The December Collabor88 collection is out and this time, it has a mixed theme of winter’s edge and haute punk couture, which for my taste, is just perfect while others might not be so interested in it. While I may not have purchased every single item presented there, I have to confess I have bought more than usual.
Today’s look is made with my favorite items: a mesh skirt from Aura, pants, sweater and boots from The Sea Hole, a top from Kyoot, a mesh scarf from Boom and a lovely skin from Illusory.
I would like to add a few words about the pictures. You may notice light effects around the character and on the background. Lately, I am playing with windlight settings but they don’t always offer a nice light for the face while other shadows are improved. To compensate, I am wearing a soft facelamp in Second Life and the special effects are appearing after post processing. I find it funny how things you don’t see on the basic picture may appear while working on it so I have decided to keep them.

Yesterday, I have been using another computer to show the last pictures I had taken to a friend. while I did that, I was struck by a change of the colors which were not at all the way I remembered them. They used to be a bit more vivid, asif a orange warm filter was applied all the time. Later, I told about this to a another friend who told me she was seeing them a bit whitsh and then advised me to check my screen settings. After some quick tests, it was quite obvious I was lacking some blue and green and have reajusted my screen settings.
I now see things quite differently. A fun detail is I have always thought my pictures had too much red or yellow so I was trying to correct them thanks to the curves in photoshop. Now, I see them much paler than what I thought. I guess I will have to change my windlight settings for the next pictures.
About the styling now. The new tunic and tied big belt from Fishy Strawberry have inspired me this hippie chic look with a new feather vest from So Many Styles (which I have slightly recolored to match the belt). For the chic part, the EXPERT hairstyle from LeLutka is adding a luxury touch.
I am also wearing the new skin from ADDICT, RAIA. I like the way it looks feminine and less sweet and young than a lot of other skins on my avatar. It is definately worth a try though it does not come with plenty of options like we are used to with many skins now, but dark and light eyebrows. You cannot change the eyeshadow or the lipstick with tattoo layers made specifically for Raia and the cleavage option is on the undershirt layer. Old viewers people will be happy to find a skin built the old way while new viewer peoples might feel like this is not enough. It is still a beautiful skin which should suit a lot of ladies.

3 days! That’s the time i needed to come up with that look. Sometimes, things are easy and plug in together effortlessly, at other times, you try to create a look, take the pictures and no matter what you try, nothing satisfies you. Finaly, after A LOT of shopping, I am happy, my wallet is not. I hope you’ll like this look as much as I do.
Now I can tell you, i was not happy with my last 2 posts. I didn’t like the pictures much, that is probably why i didn’t feel like writing about them. Right now, I am still not happy with the pictures. I need to learn new techniques as the ones I am using have flaws which are slowly but surely getting on my nerves, like loosing quality of details, too much red, too much light. But at least, I like that look a lot, being a bit modern elegant native.
It is made of a combination of different new releases from regular collections (skin from LAQ, pants from LeLutka, hair and bodysuit from Maitreya, boots from Coco, jewels from Je Suis, belt from Night’N Day) enhanced by project themeory releases (hair feathers from Tyranny and gilet from Boom)
The eyes are a new release by Exodi. I like their color a lot. At first, I was a bit annoyed as the pupil is very small, giving a surreal look to them but at the same time, that is what gives the intensity of the color. At the same time, the line is called Spiritus so you cannot expect dull boring human eyes… Now, about to know if you can read a soul through the iris or the pupil… look into my eyes and try !

I am still in the process of blogging what i’ve purchased at Designers United. After all that yellow and white, Aranel Ah of Boom is offering us this glamourous subtly gittering brown dress, announcing Autumn. I had to edit the flowers coming with it and attach them to the right shoulder as I wanted to show my favorite hairstyle from this week’s Truth Release. Of course, the bangs and flowers were on the same side…

This is exactly how I feel about SL lately. But that is fine, RL is calling and soon, I’ll rant about the fact i don’t have enough time for SL. Don’t worry if you see me less active in the coming weeks, i haven’t given up at all. It is only that I have less time to make shapes, build looks and take pictures.
I am wearing a preview of the soon to be released Tuli Audrey Skin. If you’re a member of the TULI Update Group, you can get a preview as a gift in 2 tones at the mainstore. It offers us a soft and delicate face. I particularly like the lips and the lighting on it, they remind me of a soft rose petal. The shadings of the nose lets the shape appear pretty good. With some skins, you need dramatic differences in the shape to see changes in the avatar, as the shadows of the skin are covering a bit too much. Here, Tuli’s Audrey has soft shadows which are not masking the shape completely.

sometimes weird things may be associated in your mind because of a special memory. I remember my brother and I sitting at the dinner table, looking with a disgusted face at what my mother had served us. She was on a diet at that time and had decided who would eat the same… At the same moment, there was an episode of Starsky and Hutch on TV in which a girl was jogging with a mini short. Since that day, Starsky and Hutch equals diet food for me.
